Excellent comment, Warren! It is God who reaches others through us. If we aren’t following the Holy Spirit, we end up pushing people away from Christ instead of drawing them near to Christ. This is why Jesus said the great commandments are to Love God and love others. If we follow those commands God will draw hearts to Him through us.

I remember what Paul did all through the book of acts…over and over he told his story. He once was blind but now I see, you’re not gonna believe what God’s done for me. He learned by listening to stories from Jesus. Men can argue theology forever, but it is very hard to argue personal experience and passionate stories. Thank you again Amanda for posting this!

This is one of the most powerful blog posts I’ve read in a long time. Convicting. I deal with people and issues who doubt and even deny God’s existence. Sometimes it is wearisome to talk with them. I’ve about come to the conclusion that you cannot convince someone of God with logical deductions, explanations, etc. All that does is further convince the convinced. Only rarely have I seen it work on someone who is doubting and denying. I think what has to happen is they have to connect with someone who is a believer, and over time they are “relationshipped” into faith. Relationships are the key, such as you shared with the guys on the baseball team. Great story; faith building. Thanks for sharing it. wb
