Thanks for your comments, Steve and Melissa! I always learn the most from times “in the dark.” We can’t get to the promised land without going through the wilderness. By the way, Steve, my husband loves rhubarb pie too! Blessings to you both:)

Thanks for commenting. I believe the Lord always has a purpose for growing some of us ”in the dark”, away from the glaring, sometimes, harsh light of the world around us. But nothing is ever wasted in His hands. It’s a message that speaks deeply to my own heart. I’ll let you know how we do with the garden!

And you're right, those places are sometimes the most fertile for our nourishment and growth. I guess that's why they have to plant seeds in the dirt for them to sprout and grow.
By the way, I grew up in Iowa, where they grow some rhubarb. My favorite pie in the whole world was my Grandma Sawyer's fresh rhubarb pie. She was a homemaker with a degree in home economics so we ate very well in those days.
Thanks again for your devotional and good luck with your sandbox garden. I'd be interested to know how it works out. Please keep me posted through Amanda or my email at stevesaw@gmail.com.]]>Melissa,
Thank you for this thought provoking devotional. I haven’t thought very much about growth in the dark: But it is great character, sown in the darkness, that guarantees a yield that is beneficial to many and glorifying to God. Bloom where you’re planted. I have certainly lingered in some dark, dank, smelly places in my life. And you’re right, those places are sometimes the most fertile for our nourishment and growth. I guess that’s why they have to plant seeds in the dirt for them to sprout and grow.
